NELSE INSIGHTS · OUR METHOD

We challenge vendor claims. Including our own.

A legal source, a vendor claim and an observed executable check are not interchangeable. We publish sourced, transparent analysis, not unsupported accusations or rankings.

HOW WE ASSESS CLAIMS

Four labels that should not be confused

01

Sourced requirement

An official text establishes the provision and the conditions under which it applies.

02

Demonstrated function

A repeatable protocol and observation establish product behaviour for a bounded scenario.

03

Vendor statement

The supplier describes a capability that has not been independently verified.

04

Undetermined

Evidence is insufficient for a conclusion; no allegation is inferred from that uncertainty.

01

Start with specific facts

Describe the use case, actors, context and decisions before deciding which law might apply.

02

Verify sources and timing

Link key legal statements to official sources, actual scope and effective dates. A future requirement is not treated as one already in force.

03

Separate claim from demonstration

Distinguish marketing statements, published product documentation and behaviour reproduced in a defined technical test.

04

State technical limitations

Gateways only govern connected channels; detectors can miss information; a deterministic engine can execute a badly scoped rule. Show boundaries and failure cases.

05

Never invent metrics

No fabricated detection rates without tests, and no claimed fines avoided without actual evidence and a valid causal assessment.

06

Apply the standard to NELSE

NELSE sells competing products, so our comparisons have a commercial context. Readers should be able to examine our own demonstrations, limitations, sources and evidence.

What our analysis does not do

  • We do not accuse vendors of fraud based on marketing copy alone.
  • A lack of public evidence is not proof that a feature does not exist.
  • A public article is neither individual legal advice nor a compliance certificate.
  • We show sources and publication dates so readers can check changes over time.

NELSE SAS is a commercial legal-technology vendor. Editorial analysis is commentary, not a supervisory authority's finding. Articles may change as law, facts and product documentation evolve.

Choosing an AI compliance supplier?

Ask for actual source versions, covered channels, executed checks, human review and independently inspectable evidence. Ask NELSE the same questions.
